Use CafeSignal only where cafe or guest Wi-Fi access is allowed.

CafeSignal helps you manually check suitable cafe or guest Wi-Fi, verify whether internet access works, and handle simple captive portals with best effort. It does not give permission to use a network you are not allowed to use.

Allowed use

You may use CafeSignal to inspect and connect to suitable open cafe or guest Wi-Fi networks when your Mac has no good internet path. You remain responsible for following the terms, venue rules, and local laws that apply to each network.

Captive portals

CafeSignal may open a portal, fill simple public fields when you enable Portal Autofill, and auto-submit simple forms only when the app considers them safe. You are responsible for any acceptance, consent, account, voucher, payment, or identity step required by the network owner.

Unsupported use

Do not use CafeSignal to bypass passwords, payment requirements, vouchers, accounts, enterprise authentication, CAPTCHA, OTP, member-only checks, or other restricted access controls. CafeSignal is for allowed cafe and guest Wi-Fi assistance, not unauthorized access.

Permissions and settings

CafeSignal may ask for macOS permissions needed for its core function, such as Location permission for Wi-Fi network names. Portal Autofill, Auto-Submit Simple Forms, and update settings can be changed from the desktop app or macOS System Settings.

Network behavior

Cafe and guest Wi-Fi can be unreliable, slow, filtered, monitored, or unsafe. CafeSignal can assist with discovery, connection attempts, portal handling, and work-readiness checks, but it cannot guarantee internet access, speed, security, availability, or continued access.

App Store distribution

If CafeSignal is distributed through the Mac App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies unless a custom EULA is provided in App Store Connect. These website terms are intended to explain product-specific use rules and do not replace Apple's required App Store terms.

Support and updates
