Support

Get help with CafeSignal connection and update issues.

CafeSignal focuses on one workflow: when your Mac is offline and open public Wi-Fi is available, it tries the best suitable network and opens captive portals when user action is needed.

Before reporting

Check that Wi-Fi is on, the network is actually open, and macOS can see the network in the system Wi-Fi menu. CafeSignal skips password, enterprise, paid, voucher, and account-only networks.

Portal issues

If a portal does not open automatically, use the CafeSignal menu and choose Open Captive Portal when it appears. Some networks block access until the venue, browser, or system portal window completes its own flow.

Update issues

Open the CafeSignal menu, expand Settings, and choose Check for Updates. Auto Updates should stay enabled unless you intentionally turned it off.

Useful details

When asking for support, include your macOS version, CafeSignal version, whether Wi-Fi is on, whether another network is already connected, and what the CafeSignal menu shows after Check Now.
